UNDERWATER

Ezzy glides down to the bottom of the pool, keeping her eyes open. She hovers, a
blissful look on her face.

Ezzy plays with the bracelet, swirling it around in the water, tossing it back and forth
from hand to hand and winding it around in her hair.

EXT. MOTEL COURTYARD - DAY

Charlotte comes out of the motel room, her hair messy and circles under her
eyes. A light rain causes her to pull her sweater over her head as she scans the
empty pool area.

                                                                           CHARLOTTE
                              Ezzy?

She walks toward the pool briskly, her eyes searching.

She reaches the pool and sees Ezzy's dancing body on the bottom. She waits
for Ezzy to swim up for a breath. After a moment, Charlotte dives in after
her.

UNDERWATER

Charlotte swims to Ezzy and grabs her, pulling her toward the surface.

Ezzy smiles and pulls Charlotte back down. Charlotte yanks Ezzy harder.

ON THE SURFACE

Charlotte gasps and splutters as she tugs Ezzy above water.

                                                                           CHARLOTTE
                              Ezzy...Ezzy.

                                                                           EZZY
                              I'm okay.

Charlotte pulls her to the side of the pool.

                                                                           CHARLOTTE
                              You were under there for too long.

                                                                           EZZY
                              I was in the blue, is all.

Charlotte looks at Ezzy purposefully, then climbs out of the pool.

                                                                           CHARLOTTE
                              How am I supposed to take care of you when you
                              talk crazy like that?

                                                                           EZZY
                              You didn't always think it was crazy.

                                                                           CHARLOTTE
                              Until I grew up, Ezzy.

Ezzy pushes back into the water and slowly submerges.

                                                                           CHARLOTTE
                              Don't you go back under the water when I'm
                              talking to you. Ezzy... Ezzy.

Ezzy stays under the water. Charlotte stands up and watches her.

UNDERWATER, EZZY'S POV

Ezzy watches Charlotte's shimmery blue image staring back at her.
